  1. Go to your Slack workspace and click on the workspace name in the top left
  2. Select "Settings & administration" → "Manage apps"
  3. Search for "Incoming Webhooks" and click "Add to Slack"
  4. Choose the channel where you want to receive notifications
  5. Click "Add Incoming Webhooks integration"
  6. Copy the Webhook URL (it will look like: https://hooks.slack.com/services/...)
2

Add Slack Channel in Content Tracker

Now, configure the Slack notification channel in your Content Tracker account:

Advanced Configuration

Multiple Channels

You can create multiple Slack notification channels for different teams or purposes:

  • #marketing for marketing-related content changes
  • #development for technical website monitoring
  • #alerts for critical notifications

Channel Overrides

Use the "Channel or User" field to override the default webhook destination:

  • #general Send to #general channel
  • @john.doe Send as direct message to user

Troubleshooting

Messages Not Appearing in Slack?

  • Verify the webhook URL is correct and hasn't expired
  • Check if the Slack app is still installed in your workspace
  • Ensure the target channel exists and the bot has permission to post
  • Test the configuration using the "Test Configuration" button

Webhook URL Issues

  • Webhook URLs must start with https://hooks.slack.com/services/
  • Make sure you copied the entire URL without any extra spaces
  • If the URL was regenerated in Slack, update it in your notification channel

Best Practices

Channel Organization

  • Create dedicated channels for different types of monitoring
  • Use descriptive channel names like #website-alerts or #price-monitoring
  • Set appropriate channel notification preferences in Slack

Team Collaboration

  • Pin important tracking channels for easy access
  • Use threads to discuss specific content changes
  • Combine with other notification channels for redundancy
