Using Channels in Tasks
Once you've created notification channels, you can select which ones to use for each task:
- When creating or editing a task, find the "Notification Channels" section
- Select one or more channels from your configured list
- You can choose different channels for different tasks
- Email channel is selected by default for new tasks
Pro Tip: Multiple Channels
You can select multiple channels for a single task. For example, send email for all changes but also post to Slack for high-priority alerts.
Channel Selection Best Practices
✓ Use Email as Fallback
Always include email as one of your channels. It's free, reliable, and supports attachments like screenshots.
✓ Match Urgency to Channel
Use SMS or instant messaging (Slack/Discord) for time-sensitive alerts. Use email for less urgent tracking.
✓ Separate Personal and Team Channels
Create separate channels for personal notifications vs. team collaboration. Route different tasks accordingly.
✓ Test Before Production
Always test new channels before using them in production tasks. Use the test notification feature.
